English Intent
Our commitment to the advancement of English language skills and literacy stands as a cornerstone of our curriculum. Our primary mission is to provide a high-quality English education, enabling our students to proficiently express their ideas and emotions through both spoken and written communication. Furthermore, we recognise the pivotal role that reading and listening play in acquiring new knowledge and expanding upon existing knowledge, as well as their capacity to foster the cultural, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual development of our pupils.
Our overarching objective is to ensure that our students possess a strong command of both spoken and written language, and we actively cultivate a passion for literature through extensive recreational reading. We firmly believe that by instilling this love for reading, our students will evolve into empowered, active, and fully engaged members of society, ready to make meaningful contributions to the world around them.
